Mental activities
In regard to mental activities what comes naturally and easily
when you are a young child learning about the world?
- impressions of things; feelings about things
- remembering experiences and incidents
What comes hard?
- understanding of complex mechanisms and phenomena
- memorizing things
The demands of school, competition and survival force you to do
things that don't come naturally and easily; they force you to
do hard things. You have to learn to read, learn to write,
learn the spelling of words, learn to count, learn how to solve
various problems of arithmetic, etc.. You have to commit a
great many things to memory and to understand many things.
