My greatest need as a boy --- time to think, reflect and "sort things out"

   If you had asked me, when I was in my teens, what I would like 
   most, I think I would have said:  "I want time to think, time 
   to reflect and ponder, time to sort things out, time to figure 
   things out.  I just want time to myself, time to be alone, time 
   to think about things."  I think that was the biggest need I 
   felt at that age.  Later in my life I did find that time and 
   did "sort things out" to my satisfaction.  I was confused, 
   frustrated and unhappy for many years, however, and it wasn't 
   until I was around 35 that I finally did feel that I did have 
   things sorted out and was comfortable with myself and with the 
   world around me.
