How personal weaknesses can be turned into strength
Let us say that I have a poor memory. This puts me at a severe
disadvantage in the competition of life. But then I find a way
of compensating for that poor memory. I learn to take notes.
I develop a habit of notetaking. Now I can compete again. In
fact with the power given by this habit I can now edge out
those with good memories.
Let us say I tend to get confused easily. It is a serious
weakness. It puts me at a big disadvantage in the competition
of life. But then to compensate for this weakness I learn the
power of method, system and organization. Now with the power
of this new habit I can compete again. In fact I can edge out
those who have not developed the habits of method, system and
organization. They never had a reason to learn these secrets.
I did. Now they trail me.
Let us say I have another weakness. I am very slow. It takes
me a long time to do things and they come hard for me. I
always lag way behind everyone else. Other people do things so
quickly and easily. But then I learn the power of
perseverance, industry and hard work. I develop strong habits
of perseverance, industry and hard work in compensation for my
weakness. And then, with these habits, I am again in the
competition. And in fact I more than compete. With this
powerful personality trait I leave the whole pack of mankind
behind and am way out in the lead.
