Following the voice of wisdom and good sense

We live in an age that has lost its wisdom and good sense.
Wisdom is a very important thing to obtain in this life. It is
very important to be able to distinguish what is wise and
prudent from that which is unwise and foolish; it is very
important to have a natural sense and judgment which tells us
which way to go, that cautions us and guides us. But even if
God blesses a man with all wisdom that is not everything. The
next thing is to follow that wisdom. There are many forces
that can induce us to go against that voice of wisdom and
sense. Or that can cloud it, obscure it. Like what kind of
forces? Anger, Temptation, Lust, Fear, Desperation, Envy,
Malice, Hate, Jealousy, Romantic love or infatuation,
Enchantment, Resentment, etc.. All the strong emotions and
feelings. For example, a seductive temptress might induce a
married man to do something he knew was foolish and wrong ---
and that one act might end up haunting him the rest of his
life, perhaps destroying his marriage. Another example that
happens very frequently: A lonely single person becomes
emotionally involved with someone, ignores the warnings of
sense and judgment, and ends up marrying a person he certainly
ought not to have married. Result? If he was unhappy when he
was single he is many times as unhappy married. In the
greatest decision of life he made a complete and total blunder.
