Righteousness / Wickedness

   Psa 1   Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of 
   the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in 
   the seat of the scornful. {2} But his delight is in the law of 
   the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. {3} 
   And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, 
   that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also 
   shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. {4} 
   The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind 
   driveth away. {5} Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the 
   judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. {6} 
   For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of 
   the ungodly shall perish.

   Psa 11:2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready 
   their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the 
   upright in heart. {4} The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's 
   throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the 
   children of men. {5} The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked 
   and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. {6} Upon the wicked 
   he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: 
   this shall be the portion of their cup. {7} For the righteous LORD 
   loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

   Psa 12:1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful 
   fail from among the children of men. {2} They speak vanity every 
   one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double 
   heart do they speak. {3} The LORD shall cut off all flattering 
   lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things: {4} Who have 
   said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: 
   who is lord over us? {8} The wicked walk on every side, when 
   the vilest men are exalted.

   Psa 14:1-3  The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. 
   They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is 
   none that doeth good. {2} The LORD looked down from heaven upon 
   the children of men, to see if there were any that did 
   understand, and seek God. {3} They are all gone aside, they are 
   all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, 
   not one. 

   Psa 37  Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou 
   envious against the workers of iniquity. {2} For they shall 
   soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 
   {3} Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the 
   land, and verily thou shalt be fed. {4} Delight thyself also in 
   the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 
   {5} Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he 
   shall bring it to pass. {6} And he shall bring forth thy 
   righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 
   {7} Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not 
   thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of 
   the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. {8} Cease from 
   anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do 
   evil. {9} For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait 
   upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. {10} For yet a 
   little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt 
   diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. {11} But 
   the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves 
   in the abundance of peace. {12} The wicked plotteth against the 
   just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. {13} The Lord shall 
   laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. {14} The 
   wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to 
   cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright 
   conversation. {15} Their sword shall enter into their own 
   heart, and their bows shall be broken. {16} A little that a 
   righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. 
   {17} For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD 
   upholdeth the righteous. {18} The LORD knoweth the days of the 
   upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. {19} They 
   shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of 
   famine they shall be satisfied. {20} But the wicked shall 
   perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of 
   lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. 
   {21} The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the 
   righteous showeth mercy, and giveth. {22} For such as be 
   blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed 
   of him shall be cut off. {23} The steps of a good man are 
   ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. {24} Though 
   he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD 
   upholdeth him with his hand. {25} I have been young, and now am 
   old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed 
   begging bread. {26} He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his 
   seed is blessed. {27} Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell 
   for evermore. {28} For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh 
   not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of 
   the wicked shall be cut off. {29} The righteous shall inherit 
   the land, and dwell therein for ever. {30} The mouth of the 
   righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. 
   {31} The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps 
   shall slide. {32} The wicked watcheth the righteous, and 
   seeketh to slay him. {33} The LORD will not leave him in his 
   hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. {34} Wait on the LORD, 
   and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: 
   when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. {35} I have 
   seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a 
   green bay tree. {36} Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: 
   yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. {37} Mark the 
   perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is 
   peace. {38} But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: 
   the end of the wicked shall be cut off. {39} But the salvation 
   of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the 
   time of trouble. {40} And the LORD shall help them, and deliver 
   them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, 
   because they trust in him. 

   Psa 73:1  Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a 
   clean heart. {2} But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my 
   steps had well nigh slipped. {3} For I was envious at the 
   foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. {4} For there 
   are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. {5} 
   They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued 
   like other men. {6} Therefore pride compasseth them about as a 
   chain; violence covereth them as a garment. {7} Their eyes 
   stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. 
   {8} They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: 
   they speak loftily. {9} They set their mouth against the 
   heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth. {10} 
   Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup 
   are wrung out to them. {11} And they say, How doth God know? 
   and is there knowledge in the most High? {12} Behold, these are 
   the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. 
   {13} Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my 
   hands in innocency. {14} For all the day long have I been 
   plagued, and chastened every morning. {15} If I say, I will 
   speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of 
   thy children. {16} When I thought to know this, it was too 
   painful for me; {17} Until I went into the sanctuary of God; 
   then understood I their end. {18} Surely thou didst set them in 
   slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. {19} 
   How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are 
   utterly consumed with terrors. {20} As a dream when one 
   awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise 
   their image. {21} Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked 
   in my reins. {22} So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a 
   beast before thee. {23} Nevertheless I am continually with 
   thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. {24} Thou shalt 
   guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. 
   {25} Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon 
   earth that I desire beside thee. {26} My flesh and my heart 
   faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion 
   for ever. {27} For, lo, they that are far from thee shall 
   perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from 
   thee. {28} But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have 
   put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works. 

   Prov 1:29-33   For that they hated knowledge, and did not 
   choose the fear of the LORD: {30} They would none of my 
   counsel: they despised all my reproof. {31} Therefore shall 
   they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with 
   their own devices. {32} For the turning away of the simple 
   shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy 
   them. {33} But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and 
   shall be quiet from fear of evil. 

   Prov 2:12-19   To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, 
   from the man that speaketh froward things; {13} Who leave the 
   paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; {14} Who 
   rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the 
   wicked; {15} Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their 
   paths: {16} To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from 
   the stranger which flattereth with her words; {17} Which 
   forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant 
   of her God. {18} For her house inclineth unto death, and her 
   paths unto the dead. {19} None that go unto her return again, 
   neither take they hold of the paths of life. 

   Prov 6:12-15   A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a 
   froward mouth. {13} He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with 
   his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; {14} Frowardness is in 
   his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. 
   {15} Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall 
   he be broken without remedy. 

   Prov 10:6   Blessings are upon the head of the just: but 
   violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. {9} He that walketh 
   uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall 
   be known. {21} The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die 
   for want of wisdom. {23} It is as sport to a fool to do 
   mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom. {24} The fear 
   of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the 
   righteous shall be granted. {25} As the whirlwind passeth, so 
   is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting 
   foundation. 

   Prov 11:3   The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but 
   the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. {5} The 
   righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the 
   wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. {6} The righteousness 
   of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be 
   taken in their own naughtiness. {11} By the blessing of the 
   upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth 
   of the wicked. {18} The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to 
   him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. {19} As 
   righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil 
   pursueth it to his own death. {21} Though hand join in hand, 
   the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the 
   righteous shall be delivered. 

   Prov 12:3   A man shall not be established by wickedness: but 
   the root of the righteous shall not be moved. {5} The thoughts 
   of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are 
   deceit. {6} The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for 
   blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. {7} The 
   wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the 
   righteous shall stand. {13} The wicked is snared by the 
   transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of 
   trouble. {21} There shall no evil happen to the just: but the 
   wicked shall be filled with mischief. 

   Prov 13:6   Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the 
   way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner. {13} Whoso 
   despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the 
   commandment shall be rewarded. 

   Prov 15:9  The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but 
   he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. {10} Correction is 
   grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof 
   shall die. {29} The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the 
   prayer of the righteous. 

   Prov 28:1   The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the 
   righteous are bold as a lion. {4} They that forsake the law 
   praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them. 
   {5}  Evil men understand not judgment: but they that 
   seek the LORD understand all things. {13} He that covereth his 
   sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them 
   shall have mercy.

   Isa 58:3-11 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? 
   wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? 
   Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your 
   labours. {4} Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with 
   the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make 
   your voice to be heard on high. {5} Is it such a fast that I have 
   chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his 
   head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt 
   thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord? {6} Is not 
   this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, 
   to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that 
   ye break every yoke? {7} Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, 
   and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when 
   thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not 
   thyself from thine own flesh? {8} Then shall thy light break forth 
   as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and 
   thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall 
   be thy reward. {9} Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; 
   thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from 
   the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and 
   speaking vanity; {10} And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, 
   and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in 
   obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: {11} And the Lord 
   shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and 
   make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and 
   like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

   Isa 59:1-15 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot
   save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: {2} But your 
   iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins 
   have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. {3} For your hands 
   are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips 
   have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. {4} None 
   calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, 
   and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. 
   {5} They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that 
   eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out 
   into a viper. {6} Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall 
   they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of 
   iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. {7} Their feet 
   run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts 
   are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. 
   {8} The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their 
   goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein 
   shall not know peace. {9} Therefore is judgment far from us, neither 
   doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; 
   for brightness, but we walk in darkness. {10} We grope for the wall 
   like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon 
   day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men. {11} We 
   roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, 
   but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us. {12} For 
   our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify 
   against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our 
   iniquities, we know them; {13} In transgressing and lying against the 
   Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, 
   conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. {14} And 
   judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for 
   truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. {15} Yea, 
   truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: 
   and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

   Isa 57:20-21   But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when 
   it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. {21} There 
   is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. 

   Psa 92:12   The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he 
   shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 

   Prov 10:2   Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness 
   delivereth from death. {3} The LORD will not suffer the soul of the 
   righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked. 
   {11} The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence 
   covereth the mouth of the wicked. 

   Prov 13:5   A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is 
   loathsome, and cometh to shame. 

   Prov 16:17   The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: 
   he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

   Prov 19:1  Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he 
   that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool. 

   Prov 29:2   When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: 
   but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. {27} An unjust 
   man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way 
   is abomination to the wicked.

   Mat 7:13-14   Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the 
   gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and 
   many there be which go in thereat: {14} Because strait is the 
   gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few 
   there be that find it. 

   1 Pet 3:12   For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, 
   and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the 
   Lord is against them that do evil. 

   1 Cor 6:9-10   Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not 
   inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither 
   fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor 
   abusers of themselves with mankind, {10} Nor thieves, nor 
   covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall 
   inherit the kingdom of God. 

   Rev 20:15   And whosoever was not found written in the book of 
   life was cast into the lake of fire. 

   Rev 21:8   But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the 
   abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and 
   idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake 
   which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second 
   death.
