On moral relativism

I present the following excellent articles on the effects of moral relativism on modern America:

Why Our Children Don’t Think There Are Moral Facts

Moral Relativism and the Crisis of Contemporary Education

Fact: Something that is true about a subject and can be tested or proven.

Opinion: What someone thinks, feels, or believes.

I observe that if you assume that there is no god, then any moral assertion one makes is only an opinion. It would be natural for any atheist to regard all moral assertions as merely opinions. If one states that stealing is wrong, that is only an opinion for an atheist. Similarly, an assertion that murder is wrong is an opinion.

A moral assertion cannot be proved. Its truth is based on the acceptance of a moral authority. The Bible asserts the existence of a most high god, Jehovah God. If you believe the Bible, believe in Jehovah God, then you believe in absolute moral truth — believe that some conduct is right and other conduct is wrong.

Moral relativism is a direct logical consequence of atheistic outlook.

We thus see that whether one believes in a god or not has a direct effect on his mind, on how he thinks, how he sees things.

If I state that I took a shower at 8:00 this morning and I did take a shower at 8:00 this morning, it is a fact whether anyone can prove it or not. If no one saw me take it and I can’t prove it, it is still a fact. If a certain fox caught a rabbit at 9:20 PM on a certain date it is a fact but probably can’t be proven.

There are many scientific unknowns which may indeed be true but can’t currently be proven.

Thus there many facts that can’t be proven and many beliefs that may or may not be facts.
