Everything is awry in this society. All is messed up, a muddle. Nothing is done as it should be. No one is trained in the proper way for his job. A worker is supposed to get "on the job" training. In practice "on the job" training is no training. They send him to an accelerated course where they attempt to cram a year course into a week. The worker is snowed, demoralized, and learns little or nothing. This situation with job training is the prevailing one at all levels of our society --- from the janitor and maintenance man to the professional scientist or engineer. Job training is a sham everywhere. That is why if you get your car fixed you get a trashy job; if you get something repaired in your home you get a trashy job; If you go out and buy a new house you get a shoddily built house. It all comes down to the lack of proper job training. May 1992
