It is better to eat lentils

   What do I believe?  I believe it is better to eat lentils (as 
   Diogenes suggested in his answer to the courtier who told him 
   that if he would learn to flatter he wouldn't have to eat 
   lentils).  I just don't like the system.  I don't trust it.  I 
   have no confidence in its fairness or justice.  I don't feel 
   that the things it offers are worth the price you have to pay.  
   I don't think that the 9-5 rat race is worth it.  My philosophy 
   is to learn to live on little.  To learn to be content with 
   little.  To reduce your dependence on the system to the bare 
   minimum.  To reduce your vulnerability to the caprices of the 
   system by becoming as independent of it as possible.  These are 
   my most basic and honest feelings.  And they are sentiments I 
   have held since I was a boy.
