The Most Worthy Area of Inquiry

Toward what ought I focus my mind and attention? What is worthy
of my efforts and energies? What area of inquiry?
Mathematics? Science? Politics? Economics? I look around me
and see unhappy marriages everywhere. Almost every marriage
you become familiar with is either breaking up or at least very
unhappy. All this means unhappiness --- personal unhappiness.
People are unhappy and confused --- parents, children,
everyone. People just don't know how to play the game of life.
To me this is the big problem of life. The problem of being
happy. Mental health and happiness. And it is to this problem
that I would direct my attention. It is immeasurably more
important than mathematics, science, politics or any other such
subject. And what is the key to personal and family happiness?
I think the answer lies in the proper attitudes, values, and
outlooks on life. And what are the proper attitudes, values
and outlooks on life? I believe they are exactly those that
God has commanded us to live by. We find them in the Bible and
in our own heart and conscience. We just need to take them
   seriously and obey.
