By what process does a person become depraved?
By what process does a person become depraved? A person becomes depraved by just following the inclinations of his lower nature, the base desires and impulses within himself, and ignoring the voices of his higher nature (i.e. his conscience, mind, intellect). In other words, a person arrives at that state by doing things he knows are wrong, developing habits of doing things he knows are wrong. As time passes he becomes more and more entrenched in habits of doing wrong things, more and more entrenched in habits of following base impulses and desires (e.g. yielding to temptations such as lust, sexual immorality, gluttony, lying, stealing, etc.) and descends further and further into depravity. How can a person keep from becoming depraved? By listening to conscience and having the moral strength to resist temptation. If he is unsure about what is right and wrong, the Bible tells us what is right and wrong.
